What is the point of the organisation, English Heritage, if they cannot even defend Clifford's Tower, one of its own properties, in the heart of York, one of England's finest historical cities ?

English Heritage claim "No-one does more for England's heritage." Well that's a fat lot of rubbish isn't it.
English Heritage's new motto should be, "No-one is quicker to sell England's heritage down the pan if we see the opportunity to make a fast buck."
Let's have no more of this. Let's stop this shopping mall development. Let's stop the greedy developers, Land Securities. Let's stop the shameful City of York Council in its tracks. Town Planning is more like a free for all. York should be a great city. Instead it is becoming a shambles.
York's name will once again be connected with the anti semitism of the past if the castle site is built upon as this is where York's Jewish population was massacred in 1190. Now the Council want to trample on the memory of those people murdered by the racist mob and build a temple to consumerism.
